What Is Chemotherapy?
Chemotherapy treatment, sometimes called “chemo,” refers to the use of strong medicines to prevent cancer cells from growing. Chemo may be used alone or with other treatments, such as radiation or surgery.
Your care team may recommend chemo:
- Before surgery or radiation to shrink a tumor so it will be smaller and easier to take out, or treat with radiation
- After surgery or radiation to help keep cancer cells from growing and spreading
- If your cancer has spread to other parts of your body
High-Quality Care
The Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation recognized our infusion center for its expertise. All the nurses are chemotherapy-certified and focus on caring for you and your loved ones. Caregivers will help coordinate therapeutic, educational and support services you may need, whether you’re in need of:
- Throat cancer treatment
- Ovarian cancer treatment
- Or another cancer treatment
A Relaxing Environment
To help you feel at ease during treatment, our oncology clinic overlooks a soothing garden and volunteer musicians perform here regularly.
