Patient-Centered Visitation

The health and well-being of our community remains the top priority at Enloe Medical Center. During the current COVID-19 pandemic, Enloe continues to implement measures to best ensure the safety of our patients, caregivers and community. Our visitation policy has changed temporarily. These changes are grounded in our commitment to provide safe, quality care and are based on recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the California Department of Public Health (CDPH).

These temporary visitation guidelines will remain in place until further notice:

  • Visitors may enter between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
  • All visitors will self-screen for COVID-19 symptoms. Visitors must be free of COVID-19 symptoms and cannot have a suspected or confirmed COVID-19 infection in the past 14 days.
  • All visitors of an inpatient area must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours. Several testing sites are available in the Chico, Oroville, Gridley, Paradise/Magalia and Glenn County areas.
  • All visitors and patients must wear a mask that fully covers their mouth and nose.
  • Visitors will check in at Guest Services or at the Enloe facility's reception area.
  • Most patient care areas may have up to two visitors at a time. All visitors/support persons must stay in the patient's room and comply with any additional instructions for personal protective equipment while in the patient's room.

Exceptions to these policies include:

  • Behavioral Health: Visiting hours are 6-7:15 p.m. every day and during a 1-2 p.m. ice cream social on Saturdays.
  • Cancer Center: No visitors are permitted in the Infusion or Radiation treatment areas. One visitor may be present for provider visits. Visitors are not permitted in the Draw Station unless assistance with care is needed.
  • Emergency department: One visitor is welcome if needed for clinical support, including for pediatric patients.
  • Isolation: Patients who are isolated with a COVID-19 infection may only have visitors if a qualifying exception exists. Visits will be approved on a case-by-case basis.
  • Mother & Baby Care Center and Pediatrics: Two visitors may be present. A single visitor for the patient’s stay may qualify as an exception from COVID-19 vaccination or negative testing.
  • Prompt Care and outpatient clinics: One visitor will be allowed in the exam room if needed for clinical support, including for pediatric patients.
  • Surgery: Patients may have one visitor in the pre-op area and no visitors in the post-op area.

The patient’s care team will consider exceptions to these guidelines as appropriate. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
