Enloe Health Breaks Ground on Heart and Vascular, Imaging Center
CHICO, Calif., Aug. 5, 2026 – Enloe Health celebrated the beginning of construction for a new heart, vascular and imaging center with a groundbreaking ceremony today. The project, located at 250 W. East Avenue, adjacent to the Enloe Health Rehabilitation Center, will expand access to essential care across the North State. Completion is slated for summer 2028.
“This center represents a significant investment in the future of health care for our region,” said Mike Wiltermood, president and CEO of Enloe Health. “By bringing heart and vascular services and advanced imaging together in one convenient location, we are improving access to the timely, coordinated care our patients need and deserve.”
The total cost of the project is approximately $120 million, including $31.3 million in new advanced medical equipment. The new center will allow for extended hours, increasing the number of patients seen by more than 25%. The project is vitally important to Enloe Health’s strategic priority of improving patient access to care to further the important mission of elevating the health of communities in the North State.
Chico-based contractor Slater & Son will construct the 68,400-square-foot project that will place two crucial service lines under one roof and meet a growing need across Northern California.

Heart and vascular care are an essential service line in this region. Many area families are affected by heart disease and related conditions. Bringing these services together with advanced imaging in one location will help support timely, coordinated care. Additionally, advanced imaging is a critical tool providers rely on to diagnose, monitor and treat a wide range of health needs.
