Enloe Health Announces Changes to Governing, Foundation Boards

CHICO, Calif., Jan. 9, 2025 – New members have joined Enloe Health’s Board of Trustees and the Enloe Health Foundation Board of Directors.
Enloe Health announced changes to its governing and Foundation boards, effective Jan. 1. Enloe Health’s Board of Trustees comprises 16 community members who volunteer their time to govern the organization. The Enloe Health Foundation Board of Directors is a group of community volunteers who help steward philanthropic gifts given to enhance patient care at Enloe Health.
Three new trustees, Joe Cunha, Mona Sarbu, M.D., and Samia Yaqub, Ph.D., have joined Enloe Health’s Board of Trustees.
Cunha is a certified financial planner with Edward Jones and has served North State families and organizations out of his Gridley office since 2004. He has also served on the board of Orchard Hospital in Gridley.
Dr. Sarbu is a board-certified nephrologist who has been practicing at Enloe Health since 2004 and serves as the medical director of Enloe Health’s nephrology department. She takes on the new role of chief of staff elect.
Yaqub is a lifelong educator who served as the superintendent/president of Butte College from 2015-2022. Her career began as an instructional aide working with adult refugees and immigrants. She taught English as a second language, reading and writing for 15 years before moving into college administration.
Trustees Denise Adams and James Moore, M.D., concluded their services on the board in 2024. Adams, the Dean of Instruction at Butte College, served 10 years as a trustee, including two years as board chair. Dr. Moore, a board-certified Emergency Medicine physician who has been practicing in the Enloe Health Emergency Department since 2012, served on the board as chief of staff. With the conclusion of Dr. Moore’s service on the Board of Trustees, Sean Liston, M.D., will serve as the new chief of staff.

Audrey Tennis also joined the Board of Trustees as part of her new role as chair of the Enloe Health Foundation Board of Directors.
Joining the Enloe Health Foundation Board of Directors are Todd Lewis, Ann Patterson and Quinn Velasquez.
Lewis is the president and CFO of Column N.A. DBA Northern California National Bank and board member of the California Bankers Association. Patterson is a long-time volunteer with various organizations, including Children’s Home Society, Shasta Elementary PTA and Pleasant Valley High
School Sports Boosters. Velasquez is a senior vice president and chief credit officer for Golden Valley Bank, volunteer board chair for Catalyst Domestic Violence Services, and a member of Chico Noon Rotary Club.
Along with its new members, the Foundation Board of Directors installed new officers. As noted earlier, Audrey Tennis will serve as chair, succeeding Judy Sitton — who will continue serving on the board. Devin Potter will serve as vice chair and Jennifer Parrish, M.D., as secretary. The officers will serve through Dec. 31, 2026.
