New Members Join Enloe’s Governing Board

New Enloe board membersCHICO, Calif., Jan. 25, 2021 – Enloe Medical Center’s Board of Trustees welcomes two new members this year, while thanking three whose terms have ended. The board is composed of 16 individuals who volunteer their time and service to govern the medical center.

The new trustees are James Moore, M.D., chief of staff elect, and Judy Sitton, chair of the Enloe Foundation Board of Directors. Both join the Board of Trustees due to holding these leadership positions within the medical center.

Leaving the board are Dave Loomba, M.D., outgoing chief of staff, and Mark Kimmelshue, outgoing chair of the Foundation Board of Directors. Also leaving is Carol Huston, who held the offices of secretary, vice chair and chair during her service on the board, which began in 2012. Huston is a professor in the School of Nursing at California State University, Chico, and was an Enloe employee early in her career, when she also helped develop the Enloe Cardiac Rehabilitation Program.

Erik Simchuck, M.D., chief of staff, continues serving on the board after joining last year as chief of staff elect. Board leadership remains the same, with Craig Duncan as chair, Denise Adams as vice chair and William Carriere as secretary.

Sitton is a retired executive vice president for the software company she co-founded, SunGard Bi-Tech. She taught elementary school locally for 10 years and is known for supporting community organizations. Judy has given tremendously to Enloe, providing governance through the Board of Trustees for more than 10 years and helping lead Enloe’s journey to Planetree Gold Certification for Excellence in Patient-Centered Care. Sitton joined the Enloe Foundation Board of Directors in 2018.

Dr. Moore is a board-certified Emergency Medicine physician who has been practicing in the Enloe Emergency department since 2012. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Michigan in 2006 and completed his residency at UCLA in 2011. He earned his Master of Public Health (MPH) in health management and policy at the University of Michigan. Dr. Moore joined the Enloe Foundation Board of Directors in 2016.
