Serving as a junior volunteer in this year-round program is an enriching opportunity that helps participants build a diverse skillset. This includes gaining experience in areas such as:
- Customer service in health care
- Retail sales
- Community service
- Education and career exploration
Please note that this program is not clinical. There will be no direct contact or observation of hospitalized patients.
All junior volunteers in good standing receive a letter of recommendation. Additionally, junior volunteers who are high school seniors are eligible to apply for a scholarship.
Junior Volunteer Program 2026-2027 applications are available to students who:
- Are enrolled to attend high school 2026-2027 as a junior or senior
- Have a current weighted GPA of at least 3.0
- Are able to volunteer for one 2-hour shift per week, Monday through Sunday
Applicants who meet the requirements will be invited to interview with a panel. If accepted into the program, mandatory health and safety training, program orientation, and on-the-job training will be scheduled. The application period for the 2026-2027 service year is April 11 through April 30.
