Organ Donation
In California, nearly 20,000 people are on the organ transplant list. That includes about 80 people who reside in Butte County and 400 who live in the North State. Nationwide, 22 people die each day on average due to a lack of available organs, but just one donor can give life to up to eight people and enhance the lives of 75, according to Donor Network West.
