How to tell if you're working out too hard
Now if you haven't been exercising regularly, you want to make sure that you check with your doctor before starting a home exercise program.
Start slowly and make sure that when you are exercising at home that you're working at an intensity where you feel like you're getting your heart rate up.
A simple and effective way of checking the intensity while your exercise is using the talk test. For example, if you're walking through a park with a friend and having a conversation that you're able to maintain without taking any pauses, you're probably working out at a light to moderate intensity.
If you're having to take pauses while in a conversation or having to take deeper breaths, then you're working out at a harder level. So find an exercise that works for you.
