The Importance of Drinking Water
Water consumption may matter more than you think
The magic of water! Enloe Registered Nurse, Ellen Purdue, shares why water is so important for your body and how it benefits you every day:
"As a nurse, if I could recommend one healthy tip for the community, it would be to drink more water. I know people hear this often, but we wake up dehydrated first thing in the morning to start our day off.
"So, we recommend that all our patients keep a glass of water sitting next to their bedside. Drink that water right when you get up - it'll help your energy for the day. We use a lot of water during the night just breathing, so people don't realize that they wake up dehydrated to start their day out.
"It helps your skin and plumps your skin. It can help with acne, it helps clear toxins out of your body. If you're on any medications, it helps your body metabolize those medications better. And overall drinking eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day can just help you feel a lot better in every way and make you have a better day."
