Les Heringer brings decades of leadership and community service to the Board of Trustees, drawing on a distinguished career in agriculture and civic engagement. A graduate of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a degree in Agricultural Business, Les managed the M&T Ranch for forty years. His commitment to agricultural advancement is reflected in his roles as President of the Butte County Farm Bureau, Co-Founder and Chairman of the Colusa Farm Show Program, and as a long-time board member of the North Valley Agricultural Service. Les is also a graduate of the California Agricultural Leadership Program and has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Farm City Week Agricultural Service Award and the Butte County Farm Bureau Member of the Year Award.

Beyond his professional achievements, Les has dedicated himself to youth development and community betterment. He has served as a board member and coach for Chico Eastside Little League, a leader in the Boy Scouts of America—earning the Distinguished Citizen Award—and as a co-founder of Friends of Agriculture, supporting career technical education at Chico High School. Les’s service extends to the Chico Noon Rotary Club, where he has held multiple leadership positions and received the Community Service Award. His lifelong commitment to stewardship is further demonstrated by his efforts to protect local salmon populations through innovative conservation projects on the M&T Ranch. Les and his wife Janet have three children and remain deeply rooted in the Chico community.
