This class will feature a 1-hour lecture and 1 hour of hands on with return demonstration.
During the lecture, participants will:
- Review the cardiac system, heart failure and pathophysiology related to Impella therapy.
- Discuss the risks and benefits of Impella therapy.
- Review and discuss Impella insertion, maintenance, and discontinuation.
During the hands-on portion, participants will:
- Demonstrate and return demonstrate set up, transfer to standard configuration, maintenance, and discontinuation of therapy.
- Return demonstrate problem-solving strategies.
