ED Pediatric Simulation: Respiratory Failure & DKA

At the end of the class, participants will be able to:

• Demonstrate how to use the Enloe Health pediatric code sheets and Broselow system during the stabilization of a pediatric patient.
• Evaluate three different modalities for respiratory support of a pediatric patient with severe respiratory distress or failure.
• Demonstrate effective use of the Emergency Department clinical pathway for pediatric diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA).
• Demonstrate effective team dynamics in an emergent pediatric simulation.

Closed-toed shoes and scrubs are required for simulation participation.
