The course instructor is James Geary, Enloe Health’s Supervisor of Security.
At the end of the program, participants will be able to:
- Recognize, reduce, and manage anxious, aggressive and violent behavior.
- Apply effective, compassionate methods when dealing with anxious or aggressive people.
- Discuss personal empowerment through increased confidence and skills.
- Show ways to minimize potential injury to themselves and others.
- Explain ways to reduce fear in stressful circumstances.
- Reduce liability risk for improper force used to control aggressive and violent behavior.
Continuing Education
CEs – BRN/RCP, CNA & EMS: De-Escalation MOAB 4-hour class only; please note that enrollment through OAK and an electronic evaluation are required to claim the CEs.
BRN: Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, CEP #000180, for the number of hours indicated.
RCP: This course meets the requirements for CE for RCPs in California.
CNA: Provider approved by the California Department of Health Services, Provider Identification Number NAC #6195, for the number of hours indicated.
EMT-P: Approved by California EMS CE Provider #65-0569 for the number of hours indicated.
