The first hour of class will be a discussion of FlightCare operations and safety. The second hour will be dedicated to case discussion/run review and FlightCare’s new protocol review with a post-test. The goal of the class is to correlate run review discussion with new FlightCare protocol review. Quarterly airway skills will also be reviewed and performed involving neonatal, pediatric, and adult intubation techniques.
At the end of the program, participants will:
- Have a knowledge of current operational and safety practices in the air medical environment and be able to verbalize at least one current safety or operational practice.
- Have a working knowledge of FlightCare-specific clinical protocols as they relate to real-case scenarios and will complete a post-test showing knowledge of the protocol review.
- Demonstrate knowledge of safety in advanced airway management and show competency in simulated (mannequin) advanced airway techniques involving neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients.
