Enloe Health invites those who provide care to transgender and gender-diverse patients to this educational event. This event supports inclusive, affirming care through education, collaboration and shared clinical expertise.
The event starts at 11:45 a.m. Check-in begins at 11:30 a.m. Beverages and snacks will be provided.
Objectives:
- Implement evidence-based clinical practices to support transgender and gender-diverse patients undergoing gender-affirming surgeries and hormone therapy across multiple care settings.
- Demonstrate inclusive and affirming communication strategies — before, during and after care — to enhance patient safety, dignity and trust for transgender patients.
- Recognize and mitigate the impact of bias in clinical decision-making by applying self-reflection and bias-reduction strategies when providing care to transgender and gender-diverse patients.
