Enloe Health is offering this event to create a better understanding of comfort-focused care.
This is a collaboration of all Enloe departments, and the speakers will focus on advocacy for the patient.
The event starts at 8:30 a.m. Check-in begins at 8 a.m.
Objectives:
- Clarify definitions of comfort care, palliative care and hospice.
- Instill confidence and accountability of all staff in advocating or providing comfort care.
- Understand how to transition the terminal patient to a comfort care mindset.
- Understand how to shift skills from cure to comfort.
- Create awareness of a palliative approach during treatment when they are expected to get better.
- Define Advance Care Planning documents

Enloe Health is offering 4 Continuing Education contact hours for this event.
BRN/RCP: Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, CEP 000180, for the number of hours indicated. This course meets the requirements for CE for RCP’s in California.
EMS: Approved by California EMS CE Provider #65-0569 for the number of hours indicated.
OT: This course meets the continuing competency requirements of the California Board of Occupational Therapy; certificates of completion will be issued.
ST: This provider has been approved by the Speech Language Pathology and Audiology Board, Provider #PDP81. This certificate must be retained by the licensee for a period of 3 years from the date the course concludes.
