The Mobile Intensive Care Nurse Course is open to Enloe Health employees and health care professionals who don’t work at Enloe.

Please note that this is a two-day class. Participants must attend both days to complete the course and earn contact hours.

Prerequisite

Before taking the MICN Course, participants must have one year of experience working in an emergency department. Enloe employees may obtain a manager’s approval in lieu of this experience.

Fees & Payment

  • Mandatory Employees: Free
  • Non-Mandatory Employees: $50
  • Non-Employees: $100

Cancellation policy: Pre-registrants who cancel up to two weeks before the event will receive a full refund. Those who cancel less than two weeks before the event will forfeit their registration fee. Programs may be canceled if they have fewer than 10 pre-registrants seven days prior to the scheduled event.

Description

At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the difference between advanced life support and basic life support.
  • Review the state and local emergency medical services (EMS) system.
  • Demonstrate how to effectively communicate via radio.
  • Describe the dangers EMS personnel encounter.
  • Identify the different roles in base hospitals.
  • Identify the roles of various EMS personnel.
  • Review policies and protocols.

Enloe Health is offering 12 Continuing Education contact hours for this course.

BRN: Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, CEP #000180, for the number of hours indicated

EMS: Approved by California EMS CE Provider #65-0569 for the number of hours indicated
