STroke Support Group - Secondary STroke Prevention Medications

Please welcome Danny Abifadel, Pharm. D, who was born and raised in Southern California and has been involved in pharmacy for nearly 18 years. He obtained his Doctorate in Pharmacy from Mercer University in Atlanta, Georgia in 2004 and has worked at Enloe Medical Center as an Emergency Room and Critical Care Pharmacist for the last 11 years. Cancer Discussion Group - Benefits of Oncology Massage

4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. | Enloe Conference Center, 1528 Esplanade, Chico

This group offers speakers and discussion about surviving cancer for patients and their caregivers at any stage of the journey. It takes place on the third Thursday of every month. This month's topic is oncology massage, a safe and effective way to reduce symptoms and feel better during and after cancer treatment. Certified Oncology Massage practitioner and Enloe Massage Volunteer, Miles Berdache, will discuss benefits like scar tissue mobilization, reduced anxiety, improved immune function and better sleep, while also addressing concerns related to massage and cancer. PRE-DIABETES CLASS

6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Check-in at 5:30 p.m. | Enloe Outpatient Center, 888 Lakeside Village Commons, Building C, Classroom A, Chico

This two-hour class is designed for ALL adults, whether you think you have diabetes or not. In fact, nearly a third of adults living with diabetes don’t even know they have it! During the class, participants will learn from health care professionals how to take charge of their health and lower their risk for diabetes with exercise and healthy eating. We’ll also discuss goal setting and available resources, as well as what your numbers really mean. $10 per person. Register and pay online today to reserve your space.

World Breastfeeding Week Event

Join Enloe Medical Center and Mother’s Milk Bank for a special program to raise awareness about breast milk donation and the benefits of that gift for high risk babies right here in our community. 

  • Learn about milk banking. 
  • Sign up to donate breast milk – Bring excess frozen breast milk you wish to donate.
  • Hear personal accounts from local donors and breast milk recipients.
  • Connect with local resources.

"pack Up Your Sorrows" Documentary

“Pack Up Your Sorrows”, a new documentary film about singer/songwriter Meg Hutchinson explores the realities of living a healthy life while coping with mental illness. “Pack Up Your Sorrows” follows Meg as she learns to live a healthy life with bipolar disorder. Through her eyes, viewers will explore different aspects of mood disorders –– how families try to deal with the illness in their midst, the biology of these diseases of the brain, and the effects of traditional and alternative therapies like medication and meditation. The showing will be followed by Q&A with Meg.

30th Annual Enloe Foundation Golf Tournament

The Enloe Foundation is excited to celebrate their 30th anniversary for this year’s Enloe Foundation Golf Tournament, Friday, Sept. 25. Since 1986 the Enloe Foundation has raised over $1.9 million to support Enloe Medical Center’s programs, equipment, and facilities to better serve their patients and the regional community. This year’s tournament is proud to announce that all proceeds will benefit the future Enloe Cardiovascular Care Center and the Golf Nursing Scholarship Fund. See you on the green!
