Today, about 130 Americans die every day from an opioid overdose, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. North State residents aren’t immune. In 2017, deaths attributed exclusively to opioids in Butte County were higher than the state average and so were hospitalizations. Recognizing this startling trend, organizations — including Enloe Medical Center — are working to help fight the opioid epidemic.
