2020 Community Events: June

Thursday, June 25 | Facebook Live: Are You on the Path to Diabetes?

noon | Watch it on Facebook

Roughly 88 million adults, or 1 in 3 grown-ups, have pre-diabetes — and many of them don’t know it. In fact, many people have never heard of pre-diabetes. Yet this serious health condition increases your risk for Type 2 diabetes, heart disease and stroke, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Luckily, you can make lifestyle changes if you’re on the path to diabetes, helping you lead a healthier and potentially longer life. You see, diabetes is the seventh leading cause of death in the United States and the No. 1 cause of kidney failure, lower-limb amputations, and adult blindness.

Learn more on Facebook. Join Buck August, a registered dietitian and diabetes educator at Enloe Medical Center, as he discusses this important topic. Follow Enloe on Facebook to view the broadcast and be sure to ask your questions.

Don’t have a Facebook account, but want to hear this valuable insight and more? Visit Enloe's YouTube channel after the broadcast.
