Our Procedures

Minimally Invasive Brain Surgery

If brain surgery is needed, your care team will opt for minimally invasive brain surgery when appropriate. This approach allows neurosurgeons to perform surgery through smaller incisions, resulting in:

  • Less pain
  • Less scarring
  • Shorter hospital stays
  • Shorter recovery times

Caregivers may use this approach to treat a variety of issues, including aneurysms and strokes.

Craniotomy

If you need a craniotomy, you’re in good hands at Enloe. During this procedure, your care team will take off part of your skull to remove a benign or malignant brain tumor. Then they will replace the bone.

Stereotactic Radiosurgery

Stereotactic radiosurgery may be used to treat brain tumors. During this procedure, your care team will provide a small number of very focused, high-dose radiation treatments using a state-of-the-art linear accelerator.

The treatment is localized to the tumor, protecting the healthy tissue around it from all or most of the radiation.

Intracranial Shunts

Intracranial shunts may be used to treat hydrocephalus, a buildup of fluid that puts pressure on the brain. During this procedure, your care team will place shunts, or hollow tubes, in your brain’s lateral ventricle to divert excess spinal fluid into the abdominal cavity.

Treating TBI’s

If you suffer a traumatic brain injury (or TBI), we can provide specialized care in Enloe’s Neuro-Trauma Surgical Intensive Care Unit. This includes surgery to remove blood clots and monitor intracranial pressure with the latest in neuro-technology.

After surgery, Enloe offers an array of services to help you recover, including:
