Volunteer Service Areas

Volunteers at Enloe Medical Center enhance the experience of our patients and their families by providing additional services and care that complements the outstanding service of our caregivers.

The best gift a volunteer can give is the gift of time: time to escort a visitor to his or her destination, time to run a delivery errand for a nurse, time to sit and chat with a patient — all these actions help Enloe provide exceptional service. Learn about our volunteer service areas and apply below.

Gift Shop

Gift Shop associates provide a caring retail environment for staff and visitors inside the medical center's beautiful shop. The Gift Shop is the largest fundraiser of the Enloe Volunteers. Learn more about what the Gift Shop has to offer. Apply!

Cancer Center volunteer with patientGuest Services

Guest Services volunteers help improve the patient/visitor experience by creating a welcoming environment. This team of volunteers greet and escort visitors to their destination. In addition, these volunteers run non-medical errands, transporting specimens from nursing units to the lab, deliver inpatient belongings, mail and gift deliveries and assist with escorting patients off their unit. Apply!

Spirit Squad

Spirit squad volunteers help make our caregivers feel appreciated. Whether assembling goodie bags, baking cookies or playing elf at holiday events, these gestures provide a morale boost to our staff. Spirit squad opportunities are intermittent and off site. Time commitment and exact duties are dependent on the nature of the project. Apply!

Cuddle Care

Cuddle Care volunteers provide care and comfort to hospitalized newborns whose parents or guardians are unable to physically attend to them. Cuddle Care volunteers offer support by holding, comforting and caring for these special patients as directed by NICU caregivers. This service area is currently not accepting applications. Please check back later.

Complementary TherapiesVolunteer playing the piano

Some community members share a very specific talent with our patients and visitors.

Massage and reiki volunteers provide short sessions to patients and caregivers to promote relaxation.

Volunteer musicians help to create a healing environment by playing soothing, pleasant music. This helps to reduce anxiety, provides diversion and supports a sense of well-being. Apply!

Office Resource

Office resource volunteers provide administrative support by answering phones, doing light filing, sorting and data entry, greeting visitors, and more. This service area is currently not accepting applications. Please check back later.

P.A.W.S. (Pets Assisting With Service)

Pet teams provide joy and diversion by visiting patients, visitors and staff members. Not just any dog can be a volunteer! The pet and its human handler must be registered with Pet Partners, Therapy Dogs International or The Alliance of Therapy Dogs nationally recognized non-profit organizations that certify animals and handlers to ensure safety and standards in the health care setting. Once your dog is certified with one of these organizations, the human end of the team can become an official Enloe Volunteer. Pet visits are rewarding to patients and staff as well as volunteers (both human and animal).  Apply!

Spiritual Support

The Spiritual Support Volunteer (SSV) Program serves Enloe Medical Center by providing for the spiritual well-being of the patients, families and staff of Enloe Medical Center, regardless of their faith tradition, or those whose spirituality is experienced away from religious context. The Spiritual Support Volunteer Team is an interfaith group of community members  who provide services that are supportive, respectful, unbiased, and trustworthy, honoring all traditions and the great variety of ways in which we as people experience our spiritual lives. Apply!
