Junior Volunteer Program

Health Care Volunteer Opportunities for High School Students

Enloe Medical Center's Junior Volunteer Program meets the needs of aspiring future health care professionals and helps prepare high school students for future careers by providing experience in the hospital environment. Our Junior Volunteer Program is designed to be an educational and enriching experience for local students. Due to the scope and nature of the program, volunteer opportunities for students fill very quickly. Please make note of posted deadlines.

Students attend orientation in June and then train over the summer. During the school year, Junior Volunteers are scheduled for a 2-hour weekly shift. Additionally, there are three mandatory meetings to attend.

Junior Volunteers are required to commit to a minimum of 100 service hours. The number of students accepted into the program will vary each year based on available shifts and placements.

In addition to helping their community, Junior Volunteers receive skills that are transferable to other job environments, as well as leadership opportunities and experience, skill training and letters of recommendation.

Upon completion of their 100 hours of yearly service, Junior Volunteers receive the Presidential Service Award. Graduating seniors are eligible to apply for the $1,000 Junior Volunteer Scholarship award.
