Awards & Accreditations
Enloe Medical Center has been recognized for the top-rate, quality care we provide. We thank our employees, medical staff, and the many volunteers and community members who have made the following recognitions and designations possible.
Enloe Medical Center has been recognized by Healthgrades as a 2022 Patient Safety Excellence Award™ recipient. This distinction places Enloe among the top 10% of all short-term acute care hospitals as evaluated by Healthgrades, the leading marketplace connecting patients and providers.
Enloe joins elite company as being one of only eight hospitals in California to receive both the Patient Safety award for 2022 and be named one of America’s Best Overall hospitals. The honor also marks the second straight year Enloe is both a Patient Safety recipient and in the Top 10% in the country from Patient Safety.
Based on a study from 2018-2020, on average, patients treated in hospitals that received this recognition were 55.8% less likely to experience a hip fracture from an in-hospital fall, 52.6% less likely to experience a collapsed lung from a procedure or surgery in the chest area, 66.2% less likely to experience pressure sores or bed sores, and 65.8% less likely to experience catheter-related bloodstream infections, than if treated in a hospital that didn’t receive this award.
In spring 2022, Enloe Medical Center achieved the highest possible Hospital Safety Score: an A, ranking us among the safest facilities in the country.
Enloe has earned this recognition 12 of the previous 13 grading periods.
The rating is based on hospital performance in five general areas: Infections, Problems with Surgery, Practices to Prevent Errors, Safety Problems, and Doctors, Nurses and Hospital Staff. These areas measure such items as surgical site infections, blood clots after surgery, documentation, handwashing, patient falls, pressure sores, sufficient staffing, medication administration, leadership, training, and communication and responsiveness to patients.
