In 2025, Enloe Health presented the Nurses Making a Difference Award for the first time. This lifetime achievement award will be presented annually to an Enloe nurse whose body of work — inside and outside the profession — has created a lasting impact in the communities we serve.

Nurses Are at the Heart of What We Do

Enloe is fortunate to have a talented and dedicated nursing staff. These caregivers make a difference across the organization. We value honoring those who give so much to our patients and our community.

Criteria for Selection

To receive a Nurses Making a Difference Award, a caregiver must have been with Enloe for a minimum of five years as a nurse and demonstrate:

  1. Exceptional compassion, demonstrating genuine care, empathy, and understanding toward patients and their families
  2. Person-centered care, actively involving patients and families in decisions regarding their treatment plan
  3. Effective communication, clearly explaining medical information and addressing patient concerns in a respectful manner
  4. Going above and beyond, performing actions that are not part of routine duties to enhance patient comfort and well-being
  5. A positive attitude and professionalism, maintaining a positive demeanor and exhibiting professional conduct in all interactions
  6. Teamwork, collaborating effectively with other providers to ensure optimal patient care
  7. Clinical expertise, applying knowledge and skills to provide high-quality nursing care

Please note that directors and managers are not eligible.
