Enloe Health Enloe Medical Center is a 264-bed Level II Trauma Center and operates the FlightCare air ambulance service. Enloe’s medical services include cardiac surgery and heart care, neurosurgery, orthopedics, joint replacement, cancer care, maternity care, women’s services and bariatrics.
Enloe serves patients throughout Butte County and California’s North State.

A Century of Care
Dr. Newton Thomas Enloe opened Enloe Hospital in 1913 after migrating to Northern California from Missouri. The original hospital was located at 330 Flume St. in Chico. It moved to its current location on The Esplanade in 1937.
Dr. Enloe invested his life in the North Valley making sure residents received excellent medical care.
Today, Enloe Medical Center is the region’s most comprehensive medical center and one of the few hospitals in California still locally governed.

We work hard to improve the health of our communities and have added new clinics and affiliated medical providers to better serve our region.

As the largest employer in Butte County, Enloe employs more than 3,000 dedicated staff and has more than 300 physicians on our medical staff. Our caregivers offer an increasingly wide range of services and treatments to keep our communities healthy.

Enloe Medical Center is one of the few California hospitals still locally governed. The hospital’s community-based, volunteer Board of Trustees protects this local status. They ensure that dollars earned are reinvested to improve the health of the community.
