Enloe Comprehensive Breast Care (ECBC)
Personalized and Compassionate
For those who are at high risk for or diagnosed with breast cancer, and upon physician referral, Enloe Comprehensive Breast Care works with the Enloe Regional Cancer Center to provide an array of breast health services. We are committed to providing seamless transitional care from screening and diagnosis.
Nurse Navigation Services
Our Breast Health Navigator, physician assistant and advanced practice nurse guide patients through the complex and highly individualized process of breast cancer diagnosis, treatment and survivorship, to ensure timely, efficient and supportive care.
Breast Surgical Services
Surgery is considered the primary treatment for breast cancer. Surgeons who perform diagnostic and therapeutic breast surgery as well as plastic surgeons who perform reconstructive breast surgery are available upon referral to Enloe Comprehensive Breast Care. For those who meet the criteria and so desire, breast reconstruction may be performed at the time of a mastectomy or later.
Cancer Risk Assessment
Our advanced practice nurses, who have training in genetic cancer risk assessment, can provide services as appropriate, including lifetime breast cancer risk assessment, evaluation for hereditary cancer syndromes, genetic testing and follow up. Referral to a certified genetic counselor is facilitated as needed.
As patients complete their primary treatment plan, they will be placed on a follow-up schedule that will include rotating visits with the surgeon, medical oncologist, radiation oncologist, advanced practice nurses and the primary care provider, as appropriate. At completion of chemotherapy treatment, patients will also receive a written survivorship care plan.
The Enloe Comprehensive Breast Care team of physicians, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, breast health navigator and support staff seeks to become a partner with each patient in an environment that empowers each woman to gain knowledge about her health and available care options. We aim to help improve the quality of a woman’s life through education and medical or surgical treatments when appropriate.
Your primary care physician can set up an appointment for an initial meeting with an advance practice nurse. This will be your starting point for the initiation of treatment, and the nurses provide guidance through the steps ahead.
