2017 Brings New Medical Staff Leadership to Enloe’s Board of Trustees and Foundation Board

CHICO, Calif., Feb. 3, 2017 – Enloe Medical Center welcomes new medical staff leadership to the Board of Trustees and the Enloe Foundation announces updates for its Board of Directors.

Advancing to chief of staff is Sean Maiorano, D.O. Dr. Maiorano is an ex-officio member of the board due to his position as chief of staff. He specializes in hospitalist medicine at Enloe Medical Center and is a member of the Chico Hospitalist Group. He is board certified in internal medicine. Dr. Maiorano completed his residency at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Arizona, and received his D.O. degree from Michigan State University, College of Osteopathic Medicine. He returned to his hometown of Chico in March of 2006 upon completion of his medical training. His service on the Enloe Board of Trustees began Jan. 1, 2015.

Dave Loomba, M.D., is now chief of staff elect. Dr. Loomba is an anesthesiologist at Northstate Anesthesiology Partners specializing in pain management. He is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology. He completed his fellowship at UC Davis Medical Center and his residency at University of Michigan Medical Center. Dr. Loomba received his M.D. from Michigan State University, College of Human Medicine. He came to Enloe in 2006 upon completion of his medical training. His service to the board of trustees began in Jan. 1, 2017.

Ken Petty, M.D. is now a physician trustee member. Dr. Petty specializes in radiology at North State Radiology. He is board certified in nuclear medicine and diagnostic radiology by the American Board of Nuclear Medicine and the American Board of Radiology, respectively. Dr. Petty completed his fellowship at Oregon Health Sciences University and his residency at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oklahoma City. He received his M.D. from the University of Missouri, School of Medicine. He came to Chico in 1998.

Enloe Medical Center greatly appreciates leaders for their years of dedication and for sharing their experience and expertise for the better of the hospital and community. Members leaving the Board include Mark Schwabe, M.D., a local gynecologist. Dr. Schwabe’s other leadership roles at the medical center have included OB-GYN department chairman and medical staff secretary treasurer. He has been in private practice in Chico since 1986 and has focused exclusively on gynecologic care since 2012. His service on the Enloe Board of Trustees began in 2013. Dr. Schwabe continues to practice at Enloe Medical Center and is the current medical director of Women’s and Children’s Services. 

Monroe Sprague, M.D., leaves his position as a physician trustee member of the Enloe Board of Trustees. Dr. Sprague specializes in otolaryngology and head and neck surgery. He has been on the medical staff of Enloe for 25 years. He was the chief of staff of Chico Community Hospital for two years and served on multiple committees of both Enloe Medical Center and Community Hospital. Dr. Sprague began service as a physician trustee member on Jan. 1, 2008.  Dr. Sprague continues to practice at Enloe Medical Center’s Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic and is continues to serve on two Board committees, as a community member. 

Meanwhile, the Enloe Foundation Board added James Moore, M.D., as a member of the board.

Dr. Moore is a board-certified emergency medicine physician who has been practicing in the Enloe Emergency Department since 2012. He completed his residency at UCLA in 2011 and obtained his medical degree from the University of Michigan in 2006. He obtained his masters of public health in health management and policy at the University of Michigan. He and his wife, Jennifer, are raising their daughter in Chico.
