What to Bring for Your Stay
Enloe's Behavioral Health unit provides patients with basic products
for their daily hygiene. We also permit patients to bring along
personal items when they check in, but for the safety of all patients
and staff, we ask that certain belongings be left at home. Following
is a list of what to bring, what we have and what to leave at home.
Feel free to bring the following items:
- Comfortable, casual clothes
- Several changes of underwear and socks
- Shoes
- Pajamas
- Personal hygiene products
We have the following items for patient's use:
- Blow-dryers
- Toothbrushes, toothpaste and dental floss
- Soap
- Shampoo
- Baby powder
- Body lotion
- Televisions
- Stereos
Items NOT to bring (they are considered contraband):
- Any beverages and food must be cleared with the charge nurse
- Medication of any kind
- Toxics or flammables, such as, glue, paint, aerosols and nail
polish
- Matches or lighters
- Skateboards, bicycles and weight-lifting equipment
- Personal radios with headphones, televisions, computers, cameras,
tape recorders, pagers, cell phones or any electrical appliances
- Cosmetics and toiletries in glass containers (if brought, they
will be kept for you and made available under supervision)
- Lotion, shampoo or feminine products (if brought, these will
be kept for you and made available under supervision)
- Any items with sharp edges or points, such as scissors, knitting
needles, razors, nail clippers, safety pins, aluminum cans, hangers,
hair pins, flower sticks, knives of any kind, glass picture frames
and mirrors
- Alcohol or illegal drugs
- Plastic bags
- Keys
- Large sums of money ($5 is the maximum amount allowed)
- Belts, sashes, suspenders, shoelaces, scarves, neckties, cords,
strings
- Perfume or nail polish-remover
