COMMUNITY DONATIONS

The mission of Enloe Medical Center is to enhance the quality of your life through patient-centered care.  In furtherance of this, EMC has established that the Volunteer Services department accepts donations from the community in multiple forms: In-kind gifts, activity kits, group and corporate volunteering, and corporate sponsorships.

GROUP and Corporate Volunteering & SPONSORSHIP

Enloe Volunteer Services invites local businesses to volunteer their time as Care Ambassadors. This short term volunteer opportunity features our Caring for You Cart inviting small groups of volunteers roll this card, stocked with snacks, drinks, and small items for diversion and comfort, around to various visitor lounges. Along with offering these simple items, volunteers also greet and welcome visitors with a warm smile, a kind word, and friendly conversation.

Community members can support the cart through a donation of time as a care amabassador or by providing handmade quilts or other items for distribution.  The community may also support this cart through a donation of funds to maintain and add to the stock of complimentary supplies that are distributed.

For more information on the Care Ambassadors program, contact Volunteer Services at (530) 332-4575 or volunteers@enloe.org.

in-kind COMMUNITY DONATIONS TO THE HOSPITAL

EMC has established guidelines for donated goods to ensure the safety of our patients. The following are guidelines regarding items EMC may or may not accept:

  • Due to infection control guidelines, all items accepted must be new. We are unable to accept any used items.
  • All hand assembled and homemade items and toys must be free from pet hair, strong perfumes, cigarette smoke or other odors.
  • Due to safety regulations, we do not accept any items that are gift wrapped.
  • Because many of our patients are on special diet requirements, it is not possible to donate food for our patients.

ACTIVITY KITS

Patients and visitors can find themselves waiting for long periods with little to occupy their time. A simple to do, ready-to-go activity/craft can brighten someone's day, be a welcome diversion, and help promote a healing environment. Additionally, the fine motor skills needed can be an added benefit for patients. These self-contained activities can be a great project for groups or families to work on together.
