Earn to Learn Program
This program provides reimbursement for tuition and books for the last year of an
eligible program (listed below). It also pays minimum wage for time spent in class
and performing clinicals. In exchange for reimbursement, the participant agrees
to commit to working for Enloe for two years upon successful completion of the program.
You do not have to be a current employee to be eligible for this program. Application
deadlines are May 31 (for students entering their last year in the fall) and November
30 (for students entering their last year in the spring). To apply, complete the appropriate on-line application under current job opportunities.

Loan Forgiveness
Employees in designated specialties (listed below) who work a minimum of 56 hours
per pay period and have been an employee for at least 90 days may qualify to receive
loan forgiveness. Employees who work full-time (72 hrs.-80 hrs.) are eligible to
receive up to $250 per month and employees who work part-time (56 hrs.-71 hrs.)
are eligible to receive up to $200 per month. Full-time Pharmacists are eligible
to receive up to $500 per month and $300 per month for part-time. In exchange for
the acceptance of the monthly loan reimbursement, the employee agrees to continue
employment in their current hourly status for a continuous period of one year. After
one year, the debt is forgiven on a month-to-month basis.

Educational Assistance
Education Assistance is available to assist full-time, part-time and per diem employees
who are studying to further their healthcare career. The educational program must
be related to the employees position at Enloe Medical Center or be used to upgrade
to a position in the healthcare field in a service that is provided at Enloe Medical
Center. The maximum amount to be reimbursed for books and tuition is $1,500 per
year or $500 per semester/quarter. Funds are not available for individual classes
or for special certifications under this program. Attendance of studies is unpaid
and must be taken during non-work time. Applications are available in the lobby

Special Certification Pay
Full-time and part-time registered nurses may receive reimbursement up to $300 for
obtaining a special national nursing certification. The reimbursement will be paid
for the initial certification, but not for renewals. The certification must be relevant
to the position held by the employee and may be paid for more than one, non-duplicative
certification. The RN must present the certification and expense receipts to their
manager for approval and the manager will forward to Accounting for processing of
payment. Full-time and part-time RN's will receive additional pay when achieving
special certification(s) as follows: $60 per month for employees regularly scheduled
to work 72 hours or more per pay period, and $40 per month for employees regularly
scheduled to work between 41 and 71 hours per pay period. Additional pay is not
provided for multiple certifications.
Continuing Education Time
Paid Continuing Education Time is available to full-time and part-time employees
who must maintain a license or certification for the position held. Employees are
eligible for Continuing Education Time after 6 months of employment in a full-time
or part-time position with the Medical Center. Continuing Education Time will be
paid up to sixteen (16) hours each fiscal year. Continuing Education Time is available
in addition to any mandatory education that may be provided by the Medical Center.
Continuing Education Time is approved if the subject matter is significantly relevant
to the position held and/or to the employee's professional growth at the Medical
Center. Home study courses are eligible for up to eight (8) hours of paid time.
Requests to attend education programs shall be made as far in advance a possible
with a preferred minimum notice of four (4) weeks prior to the scheduled program.
Course fees and materials are to be paid by the employee. (Registration and travel
expenses may be paid by the Medical Center if the employee is requested to attend
by the Medical Center.) Employees will receive payment for Continuing Education
Time upon presentation of verification of successful completion of a course. Certificates
of completion must be provided to the department manager. Continuing Education Time
will be paid at the employee's straight-time rate of pay.

Nurse Assistant
Nursing students are eligible to work as Nurse Assistants after successfully completing
one semester of a Nursing Program. This includes a Licensed Vocational Nursing Program,
but not a Certified Nurse Assistant Program.
Internships
Students may request to perform internships and other activities at the Medical
Center in order to gain work experience. Internship opportunities are dependent
upon available resources in the student's area of interest. All students performing
services on Medical Center property must be at least 18 years of age. Students are
not eligible to receive monetary compensation from the Medical Center.
Job Shadows
Students may request to experience a Job Shadow in order to learn and
explore healthcare professions. A Job Shadow is defined as a participant
following an employee in the normal course of that employee's duties, with
the participant's involvement being restricted to observation only.
