Enloe Foundation: Board of Directors
The Enloe Foundation is governed by dedicated community members who volunteer their time and service, reaching out to our community, sharing the story of Enloe Medical Center, and helping to create connections between potential donors and the medical center programs that benefit from their support.
Mark Kimmelshue, Chair
Mark is a local farmer and General Manager/CEO for Associated Rice Marketing Cooperative (ARMCO), a company he co-founded. He became a board member in 2012. Mark serves on several local boards and is a member of the Durham Exchange Club. He lives in Durham with wife Diane and they have two children.
Melisse Larrabee, Vice Chair
Melisse is a shareholder in Pantaleoni Ranch, Inc. and a partner in Butte Vista Orchards. She joined the board in 2006 and was Secretary / Treasurer in 2007 & 2008. She currently serves on the Enloe Foundation Golf Tournament Committee, and was Chair in 2008. Melisse was also Chair of Enloe 2000 in 1995. Melisse has served as a leader at Bidwell Presbyterian Church and Butte Creek Country Club.
Sandy Kalinowski, Interim Secretary
Sandy is a community volunteer leader who is retired from the real estate industry. Joining the board in 2006, Sandy serves on the Enloe Foundation Scholarship Committee, 2016 Enloe Gala Committee and Women In Touch Committee. Sandy has also served on the New Beginning Campaign Committee and on the 2010 and 2013 Enloe Gala Committee.
Christie is a community volunteer leader who previously served as a Playhouse Project Chair. She currently serves on the Women In Touch Committee. Joining as a board member in 2009, Christie served as the Co-Chair of the 2010 Enloe Gala Committee as well as serving on the 2013 and 2016 Enloe Gala Committee. Christie is also a leader at the Turner Print Museum.
Kenneth N. Derucher
Dr. Derucher is the former Dean of the College of Engineering, Computer Science, and Construction Management at CSUC. Ken joined the board in 2009 and currently serves on the Enloe Foundation Golf Tournament Committee. He also served on the New Beginning Campaign Committee. He is committed to Enloe and volunteers for multiple Foundation events.
Liz is a retired CSUC educator who has served as a member of the board since 2003. A founding volunteer of Enloe Cancer Connections, Liz serves on the Planetree Leadership Committee, Enloe Foundation Scholarship Committee, Women In Touch Committee, Chico Community Scholarship Association and North Valley Health Education Foundation. She is also a leader with PEO and the Bidwell Presbyterian Church.
Dr. Benjamin Gilbert
Dr. Gilbert is a board-certified ophthalmologist who has been practicing in Chico since 2000. He joined the board in 2016. He obtained his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1989 and completed his ophthalmology residency at Madigan Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., in 1995. Dr. Gilbert’s prior professional experience included working as Combat Engineer Platoon Leader, Division Artillery Brigade Surgeon, Brigade Flight Surgeon and Director of the U.S. Army Laser Refractive Surgery Center.
Tom is Vice President of Employee Benefits for InterWest Insurance Services, Inc. He became a board member in 2012. Tom serves on the Enloe Foundation Golf Committee. Tom is a member of the Chico Noon Rotary Club, Chairman of the Chico Community Scholarship Association and a leader at Bidwell Presbyterian Church. He and his wife Kristy live in Chico and have three children.
Carol Jorgensen Huston, MSN, MPA, DPA, FAAN
Carol is the Chair of the Enloe Board of Trustees, ex-officio for the Foundation Board of Directors, has been the Director of the School of Nursing at California State University, Chico since 2010 and a professor since 1982. Dr. Huston served as the 2007-2009 President of the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI). She has authored or co-authored five leading textbooks on leadership, management and professional issues in nursing and has published more than 100 articles in professional journals. She has keynoted at more than 200 nursing and health care conferences worldwide and serves on the editorial boards of multiple journals.
Mike is the President of Michael Marks Insurance Agency. He joined the board in 1996 and has served as Vice Chair previously. Involved professionally as a leader of the North Valley Chapter of the National Association of Health Underwriters, Mike also serves the community as a founding board member of the Seneca Foundation in Chester, and is a member of the Chico Noon Rotary Club.
Tom farms almonds and is retired as President of Durham Pump, Inc. Joining the board in 2006, Tom was the Tri-Chair of the New Beginning Campaign and a former Vice Chair of the board. Tom’s various services to the community include leadership on the board of Northern California Farm Credit, Chico Noon Rotary and the President's Advisory Board at CSUC.
Susan R. Minasian
Susan is retired from a career in law in both the corporate and government sectors. She became a member of the board in 2009, is the President of the Women In Touch Committee and serves on the 2016 Enloe Foundation Gala Committee. She served on the Enloe Medical Center Finance Committee and the 2010 Enloe Gala Committee. Susan is currently a member of the City of Chico Planning Commission and active participant with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Chico.
Mike is a co-founder of The O’Donnell Group, a wealth planning firm. He is the co-author of two books, The Obvious Solution, and Thinking Slow When Life’s Changing Fast. Mike became a member of the board in 2015. Mike is a Past Exalted Ruler of the Chico Elks Lodge, a member of the Chico Sunrise Rotary club, and a previous Planning Commissioner for the City of Chico. He and his wife Lauren live in Chico and are busy raising their son Wesley.
Nicole is the Managing Attorney of Harris & Plottel, LLP, specializing in Estate Planning, Trusts and Elder Law. Nicole became a member of the board in 2014 and is on the Women In Touch Committee. She currently serves on the Community Advisory Board for the Gateway Science Museum and actively participates with the State Bar of California, Trusts and Estates Section. She volunteers much of her time with the local Alzheimer’s Association and is a long-standing member of PEO. A Chico native and born at Enloe, Nicole and her husband are the proud parents of two sons, also born at Enloe.
Connie is Enloe Medical Center’s Vice President of Patient Care Services, where she is responsible for all aspects of patient care, policies, procedures and quality. She became a board member in 2012. Connie serves on the Women In Touch Committee, Enloe Foundation Scholarship Committee, the Board of Directors of the Work Training Center and is a member of AONE (American Organization of Nurse Executives).
Patti is the Owner, Vice-President and General Manager of Butte County Credit Bureau. She joined the board in 2009 and serves on the Women In Touch Committee. She previously served on the New Beginning Campaign Committee. Born at Enloe Medical Center, Patti has lived in Chico her entire life.
Richard "Dick" Stein is President and Owner of H J Promotional Products, and a Professor at CSUC in Media. He became a board member in 2007 after years of service to Enloe as Foundation Golf Tournament Chair/Co-chair 2000-03, 2009-2015 Tri-Chair. Dick serves on the Enloe Foundation Scholarship Committee and served on the New Beginning Campaign Committee. He serves many charities as master of ceremonies.
Jim is the principal/owner of NorthStar Engineering, a Chico company for 30 years. He is also a member of the board of directors for the Chico Noon Rotary Club and is an appointed member of the City of Chico Mayor’s Advisory Board and General Plan Advisory Committee, as well as of the Chico Area Recreation and Park District’s Master Plan Citizen’s Advisory Committee. Jim is also a member of the Chico Police Department Business Support Team and Team Patrick, which facilitates development of Patrick Ranch into a museum and community event facility.
Audrey is director of Mid Valley Title Company and co-owner in the Lance and Audrey Tennis Farming Partnership. Audrey joined the board in 2016. A long-time supporter of Enloe, has served as a chairwoman and committee member of the Enloe Foundation Golf Tournament. Tennis received her bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from California State University, Chico, and has lived in Chico since 1968. Among her prior activities, Tennis was a founding director of Golden Valley Bank and has served in leadership positions with the Member President's Advisory Board at California State University Chico, the California Water Commission, several agricultural organizations and foundations, and at the Evangelical Free Church's Women's Ministries.
Mike Wiltermood, Chief Executive Officer
Mike joined Enloe Medical Center as Chief Operating Officer in 2007 prior to becoming CEO in 2009. In this capacity, he serves as an ex-officio member of the Enloe Foundation Board of Directors and the Enloe Medical Center Board of Trustees. Mike has extensive experience in the health care field and is currently working to complete his doctorate in Organizational Leadership at Gonzaga University.
Myron Machula, Chief Financial Officer
Myron joined Enloe Medical Center in 2010 and serves as an ex-officio board member. He has worked in health care for nearly three decades, and has experience in finance, operations, consulting and strategic planning after starting his career in teaching and the banking industry. Myron has a BA degree in mathematics and earned his MBA from the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University.
Jolene Francis, Director of Advancement & Communications
Since 1979, Jolene has enjoyed a professional career in both for-profit and non-profit industries of Chico. Born at Enloe Medical Center, she feels very much at home guiding the activities of the Enloe Foundation as Director of Advancement and Communications. After a 28-year career in the financial services industry, she spent 3 years as President and CEO of the Chico Chamber of Commerce, furthering the mission of economic development and business advocacy. In her current role, she works closely with a prestigious group of Volunteer Board members and generous community supporters, focused on gathering charitable gifts to help improve the programs, equipment and facilities at Enloe Medical Center. During her career, Jolene has been honored with several awards and recognition, including the Soroptimist International ‘Women Helping Women’ Award, the Athena Award for women’s business excellence from the Chamber of Commerce and the Young Professionals Organization ‘Mentor of the Year’.
