FIM (functional Independence measurements) Training

8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m, Enloe Conference Center. Enloe Medical Center is pleased to invite you to attend our Functional Independence Measurements (FIM) Training. This is a system of assessing a patient’s ability to perform certain tasks from independence to complete assistance. It is required by CMS that all rehabilitation patients be assessed using this system. This course is dedicated to providers of health care for rehabilitation. Instructor: Pam Roberts, PhD. PARTICIPANTS: PTs, RNs, OTs, STs, COTAs, PTAs and Recreation Therapists; CE CREDIT: 6 Contact Hours; COST: $50 Includes continental breakfast and afternoon. Preregistration with payment is required. Presented by Anne Anderson, Occupational Therapist / Lymphedema Specialist, Mary Sweeney*, Occupational Therapist / Lymphedema Specialist, and Jan Hasak*, Author, Lymphedema Patient Advocate. A Two-Day Review for Certification

CCRN: 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (both days); PCCN : 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (Day 1) and 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Day 2). This course has been organized according to the percentage of exam questions for each body system and according to content difficulty. Presented by Deborah Tuggle, MN, APRN, CCNS, FCCM. Sponsored by HWI, Health World Initiative and Alliance for Workforce Development, Inc. 17 contact hours for CCRN, 16 contact hours for PCCN. Newly Diagnosed MS Orientation

A diagnosis of MS can create many unexpected emotions that leave you with a strong need to understand the changes you may be facing. This informative program, conducted by National MS Society staff and Edith Happs, MS Certified Nurse with the Mercy MS Clinic in Carmichael, Calif., will address the most common concerns for people who are newly diagnosed. This orientation provides an excellent opportunity to get answers to your questions and to learn about available resources.
