This new group is for cancer patients and their caregivers, at any stage of the cancer journey. This month's topic will focus on exercise and cancer. In a new study published in The Lancet, researchers found that being overweight or obese puts people at greater risk of being diagnosed with ten common cancers, including uterine, gallbladder, kidney, cervical, thyroid, post-menopausal breast and leukemia. Researchers calculate that if average BMI in the population continues to increase, there could be more than 3,500 extra cancer cases every year as a result. Join us to hear a presentation and discuss practical ways to reduce cancer risk by using exercise as a part of your cancer recovery. For more information, call (530) 332-3856.
