Tuesday, December 1 | Enloe's Tree Lighting Ceremony
5:15 p.m. Event opens; 5:30 p.m. Program begins | Front lawn of Enloe Medical Center, on Esplanade between W. 5th and W. 6th Avenues, Chico
Celebrate the season with us at our annual tree lighting event. Bring the whole family to meet the Jolly Old Elf himself and watch as we light the holiday tree. Enjoy festive music with the Children's Choir of Chico, a cup of cocoa and a cookie while you take in the spirit of the season. This event is free and open to the public.
Thursday, December 10 | Evening of Remembrance
7 p.m. to 8 p.m., Enloe Conference Center, 1528 Esplanade, Chico
This beautiful event honors loved ones who have died in the past year. Remember and heal through a program of music, pictures and special readings. We encourage you, your family and friends to join us in honoring our hospice patients as we read their names and light candles in their memory. Saturday, December 19 | Walk with a Doc
8 a.m. to 9 a.m. | Chico Mall (Enter on the Springfield Drive side near DeVon’s Jewelers and look for the “Walk with a Doc” sign.)
Please check back for the topic and doctor who will lead this Walk with a Doc. Each month a doctor from a different specialty will lead a walk and give a health-inspiring message. All ages and abilities are welcome! Walking just 30 minutes, 5 days a week could earn you a Fleet Feet gift card! Download this walking log so you can track of your walking dates, times and distance.

Sunday, January 10 | Ostomy Supply & Product Faire
1 p.m. to 3 p.m. | Enloe Conference Center, 1528 Esplanade, Chico
This annual fair for people with ostomies, their friends and families is a fantastic opportunity to see the latest products offered by ostomy equipment suppliers, ask questions of enterostomal therapits, participate in educational learning sessions and network with other ostomates. This event is brought to you be the Enloe Wound Ostomy & Hyperbaric Center, and sponsored by the Chico Ostomy Association and Enloe Medical CEnter Ostomy and Wound Services. Thursday, January 21 | Pre-Diabetes Class
6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Check-in at 5:30 p.m. | Enloe Outpatient Center, 888 Lakeside Village Commons, Building C, Classroom A, Chico
This two-hour class is designed for ALL adults, whether you think you have diabetes or not. In fact, nearly a third of adults living with diabetes don’t even know they have it! During the class, participants will learn from health care professionals how to take charge of their health and lower their risk for diabetes with exercise and healthy eating. We’ll also discuss goal setting and available resources, as well as what your numbers really mean. $10 per person. Register and pay online today to reserve your space.

Saturday, March 12 | Heart & Sole: Run for Wellness
7 a.m. to Noon | Bidwell Park, One Mile Recreation Area (near Sycamore Field), Chico
Enloe's Heart & Sole: Run for Wellness returns with a timed 5k run or one-mile walk, along with selfie stops, healthy post-race snacks and activities for the whole family. Whether this will be your first 5k or you just want a good excuse for a walk through the park with friends, Heart & Sole has something for you. Back in Action
This free class provides education before your spine surgery and is an opportunity to enhance your hospital experience. Our goal is to help you and your caregiver become active participants in your own health care, and aid you in a speedy recovery. We will discuss the surgical process and how to participate in your own recovery. Members of your care team will be available to answer your questions. Meet other patients who are preparing for the same type of surgery. Family members or friends are encouraged to attend class with you. Held monthly on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the Enloe Rehabilitation Center Conference Room, 340 W. East Ave., Chico. See the 2015 Class Schedule. Registration recommended. Bariatric Pre-Surgical Education
This class is designed to help patients prepare for their bariatric surgery at Enloe Medical Center. It provides a better idea of what to expect during the hospital visit and how to participate in the recovery process. Spouses, relatives and friends are welcome and encouraged to attend. Bariatric Post-Surgical Education
This two-hour class is offered starting at about one month after surgery. Participants get an opportunity to review important information and follow-up on special guidelines as their diet and other needs change. The class is held on two Thursdays each month. ♥ Cardiac Rehabilitation
Educational and exercise-conditioning classes for people with heart problems. The program is tailored to help each person improve their health, increase their strength and endurance, and to feel better. Sessions are directed by a Registered Nurse and an Exercise Physiologist. Diabetes Services & Education
- Diabetes Education Services: Through self-management training, participants gain knowledge and self-care skills necessary to manage their condition effectively. Physician-referral required. (530) 332-6840
- Sweet Success Program: Education and guidelines for women with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes who are pregnant and those with gestational diabetes. (530) 332-6840

♥ Healthy Heart

Healthy Steps: The Lebed Method
Gentle therapeutic exercise to help regain range of motion, increase flexibility, reduce swelling from lymphedema, decrease depression, and promote positive self-image and joy! This class is gentle with easy movement, can be done sitting or standing - and it’s fun! Mondays, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Wednesdays 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., Fountain Medical Conference Room at the Fountain Medical Plaza, 251 Cohasset Road, Chico. Free with $10 materials fee. A Joint Effort
One-hour class helps patients prepare for total joint replacement surgery. Provides a better idea of what to expect during the hospital visit and how to participate in the recovery process. Gives an opportunity to ask questions of medical professionals and meet others who will be having the same surgery. Spouse, relatives or friends are welcome and encouraged to attend class. Held weekly on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the Fountain Medical Conference Room at the Fountain Medical Conference Room at the Fountain Medical Plaza, 251 Cohasset Road, Chico. Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Clinic
An eight-week series, offered four times a year, and designed to reduce stress, anxiety, depression, chronic pain and the symptoms of many other stress-related disorders. MBSR is meant to complement not substitute medical treatments you may be receiving. Employee Assistance Program (EAP) benefits and health insurance coverage may apply. See the class schedule on the MBSR website. The cost is $395, which includes registration, textbook, workbook, audio recordings and a follow-up program. Classes are led by Steve Flowers, M.S., MFT. Physicians, nurses, psychologists, marriage and family therapists, and licensed clinical social workers may report 24 hours of Continuing Education for participating in this program (Category 1 Credit toward the California Medical Association in Continuing Medical Education). Pregnancy & Parenting Classes: Growing Healthy Babies and Families
Getting ready for a new baby and parenting are exciting and important times. Enloe Medical Center wants to help you and your family prepare. Weekly Weight-Loss Surgery Informational Seminars
Free seminars led by bariatric surgeons Deron Ludwig, MD, and Erik Simchuk, MD, with intro by Enloe bariatric nurses. Covers topics related to weight-loss surgery, the disease of morbid obesity, health issues associated with obesity and information about surgical options. Seminars are held weekly on Wednesdays from 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. except for the following dates in 2015 when it will be held from 10:30 to 12 p.m.: April 17, June 19, Aug. 21, Oct. 16 and Dec. 18.
