Enloe Medical Center offers a variety of opportunities for college students seeking experience in the medical field.
Clinical Observation Hours: Physical, Occupational & Speech Therapy
Students seeking clinical observation hours in Physical, Occupational or Speech Therapy are welcome to participate in an observation-only or volunteer program at the Enloe Rehabilitation Center. (Students must be at least 18 years of age.) Additionally, students who need inpatient or outpatient hours in order to apply to a Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech Therapy academic program are encouraged to contact Nancy Mayr, Coordinator Informatics and Education. Please send an email, with "Observation Hours" in the subject line, to firstname.lastname@example.org. A TB clearance is required and a copy of a photo ID will be needed on your first day. Professional dress is required.
Internships allow students to perform a limited range of duties within the medical center in order to gain work experience for their field of study. However, our internship options are very limited due to the confidential and sensitive nature of work performed in the hospital setting. Clinical internships are coordinated through your school. Please check with your department chair to determine if an internship contract has already been established with Enloe Medical Center. If you already have an arranged internship with a department in the hospital, please print and complete the necessary, available on our Internships page.
Enloe Medical Center gives local college students and community members an opportunity to gain experience in a hospital setting while also serving their community. Our adult volunteer program places college students at various nursing units within the medical center to assist staff, patients and visitors. To learn about currently available placements for adults, including college students, visit our Applying to Become a Volunteer page. High school students can look into the Junior Volunteer Program.
