Enloe welcomes hematologist/oncologist

CHICO, Calif., March 13, 2013 – Enloe Medical Center is pleased to announce the arrival of Hematologist/Oncologist Robert Randolph, MD, a new member of Enloe’s Medical Staff. Dr. Randolph specializes in treating cancer and is now accepting new patients at the Enloe Regional Cancer Center, 265 Cohasset Road, in Chico. He joins a comprehensive team of hematologist/oncologists and radiation oncologists. His physician office number is (530) 332-3900.
“The Chico community is truly fortunate to have a clinician with Dr. Randolph’s training and expertise join our team. Dr. Randolph has been working with us for a few months and has proven himself to be an asset to the practice,” said Dr. Michael Baird, MD, Executive Director of the Cancer Center.
Dr. Randolph brings more than 10 years of experience practicing medical oncology and hematology, most recently at University of California Davis, Mercy Merced Cancer Center in Merced, Calif. He was also employed in medical oncology and hematology at Highline Medical Center, Highline Cancer Center in Burien, Wash., and the Southern California Permanente Medical Group. Additionally, he served as Medical Director of Highline Hospice and Clinical Research Director for Highline Cancer Center.
“I am excited to be here,” said Dr. Randolph. “Staff is receptive, well informed and tuned in to the community. They are very good to work with,” he said, adding that he has had the opportunity to live in many communities throughout the state. Dr. Randolph said he particularly enjoys patient and family interaction and places an emphasis on providing information about the disease and treatment. “Patients have better outcomes when they can participate fully in their care.”
Dr. Randolph is board certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. He completed his Medical Oncology Fellowship at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, Wash., in 2002. Clinical sites for the fellowship were University of Washington Hospital; Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center Transplant Unit, Swedish Hospital; Virginia Mason Hospital; and the Seattle Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Dr. Randolph’s residency, at University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor, Mich., was completed in 1999. Dr. Randolph received his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Md., in 1996 and earned his bachelor’s degree in Biochemical Sciences from Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass., in 1992.
In addition to clinical work, Dr. Randolph also has research experience. He conducted research studies between 2001 and 2008. Additionally, he taught at the University of Michigan and the University of Washington. Dr. Randolph is married with two children, and is also fluent in Japanese.
