Dr. Prathima Prodduturi welcomed at Enloe Regional Cancer Center
CHICO, Calif., Dec. 18, 2012 – Enloe Medical Center is pleased to announce the arrival of hematologist/oncologist Dr. Prathima Prodduturi, MD. She joins a comprehensive team of hematologist/oncologists and radiation oncologists at the Enloe Regional Cancer Center, 265 Cohasset Road, in Chico. She is accepting new cancer and hematology patients. The office phone number is (530) 332-3900.
“We are excited to have a physician with Dr. Prodduturi’s credentials and patient-centered attitude join our medical group,” said Dr. Michael Baird, MD, Executive Director of the Enloe Regional Cancer Center.
Dr. Prodduturi treats patients with multiple types of cancers and hematological conditions, and is particularly interested in lymphomas and breast cancer. “Most lymphomas are curable and people can live for many years after treatment,” she said. “That’s what gives me satisfaction.” Treatments for breast cancer have become individualized over the years, and the survival rates have increased tremendously, making breast cancer more of a chronic disease. Dr. Prodduturi prides herself on individualized treatment for each patient, and believes in creating caring patient relationships with open and clear communication.
Dr. Prodduturi earned her medical degree from Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad, India in 2003. She completed her internship in Internal Medicine from John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in Chicago in 2007 and her residency from University of North Dakota in Fargo in 2009. She was named the “Best Intern” in 2007 for her clinical skills and knowledge. Dr. Prodduturi completed her Hematology/Oncology fellowship from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha in 2012. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Hematology and Medical Oncology. Dr. Prodduturi is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology. She has co-authored peer-reviewed journal articles and abstracts, and has completed poster presentations at medical conferences.
Dr. Prodduturi moved to Chico from Omaha, Nebraska with her husband and their young son. Her husband, Dr. Suresh Pasya, also joined the Enloe Medical Staff. He is a hospitalist with the Chico Hospitalist Group. Hospitalists are physicians exclusively dedicated to treating patients during their hospital stay.
