Tres Hombres gives back to the community,
starting with the Enloe Regional Cancer Center
CHICO, Calif., May 6, 2010 – Tres Hombres will host its first “Tres Days” event on May 12 through 14 from 11:30 a.m. to midnight at First and Broadway Streets in Downtown Chico, benefiting the Enloe Regional Cancer Center. The local restaurant plans more “Tres Days” events to raise money for other local organizations.
Tres Hombres owner Michael Thomas wishes to use these events as a way to give back to the community for its support when the restaurant was heavily damaged by fire in December 2009. The restaurant re-opened, entirely renovated, in September 2010.
“The support we received from the Chico community immediately after the fire and during the 10-month renovation was overwhelming,” Thomas said.“Our hope is to use Tres Hombres as a vehicle to raise funds for local Chico organizations that could use the help. It is kind of our way of saying ‘thank you.’”
During Tres Days, the restaurant will donate one dollar from every featured margarita to the Enloe Regional Cancer Center along with 100 percent of the proceeds from limited-edition Tres Days T-shirts.
“Our Cancer Center is honored to be chosen as the first beneficiary of these generous endeavors,” said Michael Baird, MD, Executive Director of the Enloe Regional Cancer Center. “Tres Hombres’ decision to give back is nothing short of commendable, and the community’s involvement in Tres Days will support our center in helping patients throughout their cancer journey.”
