Nominations accepted for Enloe’s 2011 Physician Legacy Award

CHICO, Calif., Sept. 29, 2011 – The community is invited to submit their nominations for Enloe Medical Center’s 2011 Physician Legacy Award. This award is presented each year to a physician whose body of work in and out of the profession has created a lasting impact and legacy.

Nominations are due by Oct. 14, and can be made by anyone in the community. Nominations can be submitted online at www.enloe.org/legacy.

The Enloe Medical Executive Committee, made up of physician leaders, will select the recipient, who will be honored at the Annual General Medical Staff meeting in December 2011.

Criteria for selection include: a respected physician whose leadership at Enloe and in the community both locally and at large has changed our world for the better, a physician who has been a member of the medical staff for more than one year and has active privileges at Enloe Medical Center, and a physician with excellent clinical knowledge and skill. Previous recipients are not eligible.

Past recipients of the Physician Legacy Award have been Eugene Cleek, MD; Joseph Matthews, MD; Terrence G. Fraters, MD; Joseph Chiapella, MD; Jimmy Roberts, MD; Walter Mazen, Sr., MD; James Wood, MD; and Donald Heithecker, MD.
