CHICO, Calif., Dec. 17, 2010 – Mom’s Restaurant recently presented a $3,712 check to the Enloe Foundation to support the Enloe Regional Cancer Center. The donation came from fundraisers the eatery held throughout October for Think Pink breast cancer awareness.
The first event was a Live Art Dinner held at Mom’s Restaurant on Oct. 8 featuring a fine art presentation, live music and a live auction. Then, Oct. 29 brought the First Tea Party for a Cure, where attendees donned hats and gloves and enjoyed a meal over tea. Additionally, the servers and staff at Mom’s Restaurant wore pink aprons and offered specialty menu items throughout October. All of these events were hosted by Mom’s Restaurant Co-Owner Darien Sterling and Director of Community Outreach Carey Galliani to raise awareness about cancer and to raise funds in support of the local cancer programs at the Enloe Regional Cancer Center.
The Enloe Regional Cancer Center offers many services for cancer patients and their families. Clinical services include Radiation Oncology; a comfortable Infusion Therapy Clinic overlooking a beautiful Healing Garden; Breast Care; clinical trials; oncology tumor rounds; a cancer registry; a Lymphedema Program; and an Acupuncture Clinic. Resources and programs at the Enloe Regional Cancer Center include Cancer Connections, offering assistance and support for patients and their families, and a Cancer Center Library, where information can be found that will be helpful during a patient’s journey.
