Nominations accepted for 2009 Enloe Physician Legacy Award

CHICO, Calif., Oct. 2, 2009 – It is time to honor an outstanding physician for the 2009 Enloe Medical Center Physician Legacy Award. The Physician Legacy Award is presented each year to a physician whose body of work in and out of the profession has created a lasting impact and a legacy.

Nominations are due by Oct. 16, and can be made by patients as well as other physicians, hospital administrators, employees and volunteers of Enloe Medical Center. Nominations can be submitted via an online form at www.enloe.org – look for the “Commend a Doctor” button.

The Enloe Medical Executive Committee, made up of physician leaders in the hospital,  will select the physician who will be honored at the Annual General Medical Staff meeting in December 2009.

Criteria for selection include: a respected physician whose leadership at Enloe and in the community both locally and at large has changed our world for the better, a physician who has been a member of the medical staff for more than one year and has active privileges at Enloe Medical Center, and a physician with excellent clinical knowledge and skill. Previous recipients are not eligible.

Past recipients of the Physician Legacy Award have been Terrence G. Fraters, MD; Joseph Chiapella, MD; Jimmy Roberts, MD; Walter Mazen, Sr., MD; James Wood, MD; and Donald Heithecker, MD.
