CHICO, Calif., Dec. 28, 2009 – The 15 shareholders of North State Radiology have made a generous $250,000 contribution to the Enloe Foundation to benefit Enloe Medical Center’s Century Project expansion. The medical center’s new radiology suite will be named for the physician group.

“We at Enloe are very grateful to each physician at North State Radiology for this generous gift,” said Mike Wiltermood, Enloe’s Chief Executive Officer. “It represents exceptional support, both financially and in spirit.”
Dr. Kevin Nash, president of North State Radiology said the group donated for a variety of reasons.
“As Enloe is working toward expanding and updating its facility, we believe that creating a new radiology suite perfectly matches our mission to promote quality care and radiology excellence,” said Dr. Nash. He added that the group believes that Enloe’s Century Project expansion demonstrates the hospital’s commitment to continually improve and expand upon its services and facilities.
“Every day we see, from the inside, the high quality of medical care offered here. We are proud to be a part of this team, and to do the right thing by supporting the hospital’s efforts to continually bring comprehensive health care to our community.”
North State Radiology is a group of 22 board certified physicians in diagnostic radiology. The physician group has worked alongside Enloe for more than 50 years. As the sole radiology group practicing at Enloe, it is responsible for maintaining quality and providing safe imaging practices. The group provides image-guided procedures to patients in Butte County, as well as digital mammography, breast MRI, ultrasound, biopsies and high-field MRI, among other imaging services.
The Century Project will enable Enloe to meet the health care needs of its growing community and satisfy the 2013 deadline imposed by the state of California for hospitals to rebuild or retrofit their facilities to meet strict seismic standards. It consists of a five-story patient tower, a single-story surgery center, a single-story trauma center, a parking structure and a park.
