Enloe Medical Center is engaged around creating a culture of quality and safety. Enloe caregivers participate in a number of quality assurance initiatives and publicly released surveys. We continually look for ways to achieve higher quality, reaching out to patients
and their families to create programs that are meaningful, and building effective bridges with the community to support health along the continuum of care. Through Enloe's focus on continual quality improvements, we create excellence every day.
Enloe's Quality Summit
Enloe Medical Center's 7th annual Quality Summit was held in April 2015. This annual event brings together employees and physicians from the Enloe Medical Staff to review current quality initiatives, celebrate achievements and identify new initiatives. Each year, we look for the best ideas that are evidence-based and can make a difference to patient care.
Quality Summit Annual Report
The Quality Summit Annual Report provides an update on the quality initiatives identified in the year prior, summarizes quality efforts undertaken at the medical center, highlights recognition received for exceptional quality care, identifies the "Quality Summit Award" recipient and announces the newest quality initiatives. Enloe's 2015-2016 Quality Initiatives
Enloe will address these newly chosen quality initiatives while continuing to follow those set in past years.
- Creating a Healthier Hospital This effort builds on the momentum of the 2014-15 quality initiative to help Enloe lead the community to a
healthier future by engaging leadership to reduce waste, improve efficiency and promote healthier nutrition. Sustainability will be a primary focus of this year’s efforts.
- Collaborating for Smooth Transitions of Care It is not enough to deliver excellent care inside the hospital. Being truly patient-centered means creating effective transitions to the next level of care, helping patients remain healthy after discharge. This initiative will create robust systems to facilitate transitions for some of our most fragile patients.
- Improving Care for Medically Complex Patients Bariatric patients are often medically complex and require special consideration for safe care, including mobilization and physical therapy. This initiative will provide staff education and ensure resources are appropriate for optimal patient safety.
- Partnering for Safer Medication Use Patients often take many prescriptions. It is important that patients fully understand their therapies, and that medication interactions and side effects be considered. Pharmacists will consult with patients to improve medication safety after discharge.
